Scafell Pike & Scafell

Fourteen strong we set off to conquer England’s highest mountain Scafell Pike with Scafell thrown in just for the challenge. Starting from Wast water in pleasant early morning conditions we made our way up to Esk Hause and then on to summit the pike just before dinner with hazy weather, we did not get the best of views but still great to get there.

Now on to Scafell so we start down again into the valley looking for the chimney which starts the ascent to Scafell, climbing up again within the hour we reach the second summit of the day, Scafell. The weather is better now affording much clearer views from the summit with some great pictures to take home. Now it’s time to descend and the weather now is really quite warm and sunny making it a very pleasant but tiring return to Wast water, but again everyone very happy with two summits and a great day out.

Now we’re all of to see if we can find a Black Sheep or Two (oh and before you go off on one that’s a Beer)
